The most common mistake in home care is not a lack of cosmetics, but too many products used without a plan. The skin responds better to a regular, predictable routine than to constant testing of new active ingredients.

1. Gentle cleansing

A good cleanser should remove sebum, SPF and impurities, but not leave a feeling of tightness. For dry or sensitive skin, gentle emulsions and milks work well, and for oily skin, light gels without aggressive over-drying.

2. A cream that supports the skin barrier

A cream does not have to be heavy or very expensive. What matters more are ingredients that support skin comfort, for example ceramides, squalane, glycerine, panthenol, hyaluronic acid or niacinamide. If your skin stings after washing and tingles after active ingredients, we first rebuild the barrier.

3. One active ingredient at a time

Vitamin C, retinol, acids and niacinamide make sense, but not all at once. It is best to choose one priority: discolouration, acne, loss of firmness, dryness or sensitivity. This makes it easier to assess what really works and what irritates.

4. SPF as a daily standard

Sun protection matters not only in summer. In a daily routine it is worth choosing broad-spectrum protection and SPF 30 or higher. This is especially important when you use retinoids, acids or are planning brightening treatments.

5. What not to add without a consultation

How to tell that a routine is too strong?

A sign of overload is not only visible peeling. Watch also for stinging after water, burning after a cream, sudden shine from dehydration, redness and a “papery” feel to the skin. Then less is more: we drop some of the active ingredients and go back to the basics, instead of adding another product for the problem.

During a cosmetology consultation we can review your products, simplify your routine and choose care that supports the results of your in-salon treatments.
