Lip enhancement and shaping is a treatment that requires a very good plan. A natural effect depends not only on the amount of product, but on the anatomy, facial proportions, previous treatments, tissue quality and the client’s expectations.

The safest approach is calm: first qualification, then a conversation about shape, volume and the limits of the treatment. The lips should suit the face, not look like a separate element.

When does lip shaping make sense?

The treatment can be considered when the goal is subtly evening out asymmetry, emphasising the contour, gently increasing volume or improving the hydration of the vermilion border. Not everyone needs a full millilitre of product, and maximum enlargement is not always the best decision.

With very thin lips, a tendency to product migration or strongly tensioned tissues, it is better to work in stages. A smaller volume and a check after healing usually give a more elegant effect.

What do we discuss before the treatment?

Safety matters more than a trend

Fillers are injectable procedures, so they can involve swelling, bruising, tenderness, lumps, infection, an inflammatory reaction or rare but serious vascular complications. That is exactly why we do not qualify anyone for the treatment based only on a photo or a short message.

If, after the treatment, increasing pain, blanching of the skin, vision disturbances, unusual bruising or rapid worsening of the tissues appears, it requires urgent contact with a specialist.

How to keep a natural effect?

A natural result requires patience. The lips need time for the swelling to subside and the tissues to settle. For the first few days we usually avoid pressure, the sauna, intense exercise, alcohol and exposure to high temperature, in line with the aftercare recommendations.

If you want a subtle effect, a good starting point is a cosmetology consultation, during which you can discuss proportions and the realistic scope of the treatment.

At Studio AP we treat lip shaping as work with proportion, not a race for more volume. The best effect is one that still looks like your lips.
