Enterodermal acupuncture is a needle procedure performed in selected areas of the face. At Studio AP we treat it as a treatment that requires qualification, a conversation about contraindications and a very realistic discussion of the effects.
It is not a treatment “for everything” or a substitute for dermatological treatment. We assess whether it makes sense only after checking the skin, the goal of the therapy and how the client reacts to needle procedures.
How is it different from classic acupuncture?
Classic acupuncture is a medical-complementary practice used mainly in the context of pain and selected conditions. Enterodermal acupuncture in an aesthetic salon has a different goal: precise work within the facial skin and selected wrinkles or folds.
That is why aesthetic qualification, hygiene, technique and a discussion of possible skin reactions are most important - not a promise of treatment.
When can it be considered?
- when gentle stimulation of selected facial areas is needed
- in the area of the forehead, frown line, nasolabial folds or chin
- when the client is looking for a needle procedure but wants to discuss alternatives
- as part of a plan to improve skin quality, not as a one-off promise of a lift
How to prepare for the treatment?
Before the visit it is worth mentioning medications, a tendency to bruise, chronic conditions, allergies, pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infections and recent medical or aesthetic procedures. The skin should not be freshly tanned, irritated or overloaded with acids or retinoids.
What may appear after the treatment?
After needle procedures, temporary redness, tenderness, small bruises or greater skin reactivity are possible. For the first few days, calm care, SPF protection and avoiding additional skin irritation are most important.
Evidence and limitations
Research on cosmetic facial acupuncture is limited and usually involves small groups. That is why we talk about the treatment cautiously: it may be part of a stimulating plan, but we do not promise the effect of a medical lift or permanent wrinkle removal.
If you are considering enterodermal acupuncture, start with a consultation. A good treatment choice depends on the skin, the goal and the readiness to regenerate after a needle procedure.
