It is best to start preparing your skin for summer early, before intense sun and the holiday rush arrive. The goal is not aggressive exfoliation just before a trip, but evening out the texture, strengthening the skin barrier and building the habit of daily SPF.

2-3 months before the holiday: planning and exfoliation

This is a good time for a consultation and a decision on whether the skin qualifies for peels or regenerating treatments. Chemical peels can improve the appearance of discolouration, irregularities and texture, but they require appropriate preparation and aftercare. The closer to intense sun, the more cautiously we approach strong acids and retinoids.

4-6 weeks before the trip: hydration and barrier

Before summer it is worth focusing on hydration, ceramides, hyaluronic acid and gentle formulas. In the salon, procedures supporting skin freshness work well, such as Aqua Clean hydrogen cleansing or an individually selected biorevitalisation.

The last week: fewer active ingredients

Right before a holiday it is better to give up experiments. Do not introduce a new retinol, a strong acid or an intense peel. Choose gentle cleansing, a light cream, a hydrating mask and a tried-and-tested SPF that you will actually apply in the right amount.

SPF on the beach and in the city

On sunny days choose broad-spectrum protection, SPF 30 or higher, sunglasses, a hat and shade during the hours of strongest sun. If you are outdoors for a longer time, the filter needs reapplying about every 2 hours and after swimming or sweating.

After the holiday: regeneration before stronger treatments

After intense sun the skin is often dehydrated, more reactive and prone to discolouration. It is worth calming and hydrating it first, and only later returning to stronger procedures such as PRX-T33 or microneedling.

If the skin is already irritated

Before a holiday it is not worth catching up on care with an aggressive peel. When the skin stings, peels or has fresh redness, the priority is calming it: gentle washing, a regenerating cream, SPF and giving up new active ingredients. Only calm skin is a good starting point for salon treatments.

The best summer plan is one that suits your trip, your skin type and your current care. At Studio AP we choose it individually, without promising effects the skin is not ready to accept.
