Stress is not the only cause of skin problems, but it can affect how the skin reacts, regenerates and tolerates care. In some people, during periods of tension, imperfections, itching, dryness, redness, under-eye circles or hair loss intensify.

How stress can show on the skin

Calming care first

Under stress it is easy to reach for stronger acids and spot products, but reactive skin often needs the opposite direction. Opt for gentle cleansing, a regenerating cream, SPF and a break from an excess of active ingredients. If the problem is sudden, severe or chronic, it is worth consulting it with a dermatologist.

What can help in the salon

Not everything is solved by a treatment

Sleep, regular meals, hydration, movement and treating chronic conditions matter for the skin. Cosmetology can support the appearance and comfort of the skin, but it does not replace medical diagnosis or work with the cause of chronic stress.

When a treatment alone is not enough?

If skin changes recur with every period of tension, and on top of that insomnia, chronic itching, intensified acne, hair loss or disease symptoms appear, a cosmetology treatment alone will only be a support. Then it is worth combining care with diagnosis and work on the cause of the body’s overload.

At Studio AP we choose treatments so as not to add another stimulus to the skin when it needs calming. Sometimes the best first step is regeneration, not strong stimulation.
