Vessel closure - single vessel
A short, targeted session for one vessel, for example a spider vein on the nostril or cheek. A solution for when a single change is bothering you rather than diffuse redness.
Treatment and recovery
Sensations during treatment
Several short pulses felt as a prick with warmth, limited to one point.
Return to everyday activities
Redness and slight swelling around the vessel usually pass within a dozen or so hours. We protect the area with SPF for a few days.
Treatment plan
Usually one session with a check-up after several weeks; larger vessels are often finished during a second visit.
When is a targeted treatment enough?
When the concern is one distinct, dilated vessel and the rest of the skin does not need work. The session takes 20 minutes and covers skin preparation, several pulses on the indicated change and a soothing finish. With a dense network of fine vessels and diffuse redness, a protocol covering the whole zone works better.
What does the visit look like?
We assess the vessel under magnification and match the parameters to its diameter and depth. The pulse is brief and contact cooling protects the epidermis. Immediately after the treatment the vessel may blanch or temporarily darken, and both reactions are typical.
What to expect afterwards?
Redness and slight swelling around the change usually last up to a dozen or so hours. The closed vessel fades gradually over 2-4 weeks, and some larger vessels need a repeat session, which we assess at a follow-up visit.
Frequently asked questions about vessel closure
Does the treatment hurt?
The sensation resembles a brief prick with warmth. The nostril area tends to be the most sensitive, but the session itself is very short.
When do we not perform the treatment?
With a fresh tan, active skin inflammation and photosensitising medication. Vascular changes that grow quickly, change appearance or bleed need medical assessment first.
Benefits
- A short, targeted session without treating the whole face
- Parameters matched to one specific vessel
- A low entry point into light therapy
Who it is for
For people bothered by one distinct facial vessel who do not need work on a whole zone of redness.
What results to expect
A single vessel usually blanches and fades over several weeks. Larger changes may need a repeat session.
