Massage can be a way to relax, regenerate, reduce tension and have a moment of calm. Different techniques, however, have different goals, so it is worth choosing the treatment according to the body’s need, not just the name.

At Studio AP, classic, relaxation, sports and hot stone massages are available, as well as shorter variants focused on the back, neck, nape and head.

Classic massage

A classic body massage or a classic back massage works well with muscle tension, strain, sedentary work and a need for more focused manual work. The intensity can be adjusted to comfort and the areas that need attention.

Relaxation massage

A relaxation body massage has a calmer character. It is a good choice with stress, fatigue and a need to unwind. It does not have to be very strong to be valuable.

Sports massage

A sports massage is usually more focused on active people, those overloaded by training or needing work on specific areas. It does not replace physiotherapy after an injury, but it can support regeneration if there are no contraindications.

Hot stone massage

A hot stone massage combines calm manual work with the warmth of heated basalt stones. Warmth makes it easier for the muscles to let go, so the treatment often feels deeper even though it is performed without strong pressure. It is a choice for people who enjoy warmth and want to unwind rather than to have intensive work in the tissue. Warmth does, however, require caution wherever sensation or circulation is impaired.

When to exercise caution?

A good massage starts with a question: what does the body need today? Stress requires a different pace from strain after training, and chronic neck tension yet another.

Frequently asked questions

Which massage should I choose for neck tension from computer work?

Usually a classic neck and nape massage or a back massage, matched to the overloaded area. With a lot of stress the relaxation variant helps too.

Can a massage do harm?

Yes, with fever, infection, a fresh injury, thrombosis and some conditions. That is why we discuss contraindications before the massage.

How often should I have a massage?

It depends on the goal: for recovery after training, and as a course with chronic tension. The rhythm is set individually.

How is a hot stone massage different from a relaxation massage?

Both are calm, but the stone version adds warmth, which makes it easier for the muscles to let go. If you do not tolerate heat well or have impaired sensation, a relaxation massage is the safer choice.
